It initially appeared that the baseball field shootings in Alexandria, VA aimed at Republican lawmakers had brought the left to reflect on their 24/7 anger. If the words of MSNBC’s “AM Joy” host Joy Reid is any indication of a calming of the waters, that hasn’t happened. MSNBC has earned its nickname MSLSD.
Reid has been receiving criticism for attacking the politics of House majority whip Steve Scalise, who is still in the hospital after a gunman opened fired last week on the GOP Congressional baseball team. Her words were provocative at best.
On her show this past weekend she said, “It’s a delicate thing because, obviously everybody is wishing the congressman well and hoping that he recovers. But Steve Scalise has a history that we’ve all been forced to sort of ignore on race.”
The words bring to mind Hillary Clinton’s “disclaimer” that came with her taking responsibility for her election defeat. Yes, she did say it was “her responsibility,” but then she rambled on about Russians, Trump, then-FBI Directory James Comey and a variety of “other” reasons for her defeat.
Reid followed the same pattern. First she provided her “heartfelt” condolences, and then brought down the hammer. Get well soon Steve, but it’s kinda your fault for being a racist.
Her comments didn’t get any easier to stomach. She added, “He did come to leadership after some controversy over attending a White nationalists event, which he says he didn’t know what it was. Because he is in jeopardy and everyone is pulling for him, are we required in a moral sense to put that aside?”
What kind of audience is listening to this drivel? Where is the utter outrage at this relatively unknown commentator defining and placating a planned assassination of innocent people? Apparently the deranged shooter was justified Joy? Is that your sick reasoning?
While Reid made her outrageous comments, the viewer was shoveled an on-screen graphic showing Scalise’s record highlighting his more polarizing decisions. In the station’s selections, they included sponsoring a bill to define marriage as between a man and a woman. Reid also tweeted, “Scalise was shot by a white man with a violent background, and saved by a black lesbian police officer, and yet … “
Where is the utter outrage in this country from Americans on any side of the fence? Is this what it has come to? We are now being subjected to a partisan, far left rant on a wounded countryman by some two-bit delusional woman with a national network backing her up?
This congressman is in a hospital fighting for his life. He has a wife and small children. He is an American. Did anyone other than nut cases bent on destroying the basic fiber of human decency ask this woman for her opinion?
Where is the responsible management of MSNBC? Oh, there isn’t any.
