Attorney General’s Decision Beginning of Illegal Containment at Border

It’s easy to see that former Attorney General Jeff Sessions is no longer at the DOJ. Something is actually being done about illegal immigration and not a moment too soon.

Newly-confirmed Attorney General William Barr ruled Tuesday that asylum seekers facing removal with fears of homeland reprisals will no longer be simply released into the interior of the U.S. Finally, a sane policy will be put in place to no longer allow them to be eligible for release on bond.

What does that mean? It represents the first immigration-related ruling by the man who replaced do-nothing Jeff Sessions. While we’re on the subject of ‘do-nothings,’ how does a Congress sit on its hands and do nothing about this national crisis?

Thank goodness someone in government isn’t afraid of political correctness or ‘inclusive’ silliness. Yes, the attorney general has the authority to overturn prior rulings made by immigration courts, which fall under the Justice Department, period.

Attorney General William Barr’s decision is the beginning of containment of illegals at border.

In his decision, Barr wrote; “The question presented is whether aliens who are originally placed in expedited proceedings and then transferred to full proceedings after establishing a credible fear become eligible for bond upon transfer. I conclude that such aliens remain ineligible for bond, whether they are arriving at the border or are apprehended in the United States.”

What followed was the predictable hysteria of the far-left who remain more concerned about law-breaking illegal aliens than the security of American citizens. Surprise, surprise, the American Civil Liberties Union called the ruling unconstitutional and vowed to sue.

The ACLU better hurry to their favorite circuit court for appeals. The San Francisco-based Ninth Circuit, traditionally a haven of liberal judges legislating from the bench has been diluted the last two years with Trump conservative appointments.

Liberals should take a deep breath as the Barr decision doesn’t affect asylum-seeking families because they generally can’t be held for longer than 20 days. It also doesn’t apply to unaccompanied minors either.

But it is a sure bet the decision is only the beginning of saner lawful control of our border with Mexico. Border crossings have been skyrocketing. Most lawbreakers come as families from Central America.

There was a total of 161,000 asylum applications filed in the last fiscal year and 46,000 in the first quarter of 2019, according to the Executive Office for Immigration Review. The numbers are overwhelming. Meanwhile, the government of Mexico that receives billions in American foreign aid sits on their collective hands and allows these people to travel through their country to our border.

Could this decision be the beginning of America taking back control of its southern border?

Can the American people count on President Trump to protect us from the unabated onslaught of illegal aliens destroying our culture, language and customs?
