Forget your political affiliation for a moment and put on your ‘I am an American’ hat. Right now you are not a Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton fan or foe. You are simply an American.
Now focus on former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s current world tour. She is not on American soil, but rather overseas where people create an impression of our country by the people who visit them.
Hillary is an important visitor, and like her or not, she creates an impression of our country. Oh, the words “world tour” usually conjure up something like superstars performing at concerts. But this is an elitist political figure who feels she was denied her God-given entitlement to be President of the United States.
Nevertheless, a week ago, Hillary Rodham Clinton landed in Melbourne, Australia – 8,000 miles from American soil. Melbourne is the second largest city in Australia. There she sowed the chip on her shoulder that grows larger with every appearance, much like a malignant tumor.
Being that she is a Clinton, it cost money to hear her bellyache. For the 5,000 people who came to see her in Melbourne, the cost was between $200 and $500 Australian dollars.
Not surprisingly, it was a marathon diatribe on the man who defeated her for president. She ranted on about his foreign and domestic policies. Never once did she consider these were petty differences best kept among ourselves. To air our dirty laundry as Americans to our foreign friends is an unspoken no no in most circles; not bitter Hillary’s.
Nope, she believes that government belongs to her. In her mind, and many of her friends, when Republicans win an election it somehow was stolen from its rightful owners and the voters were misled. Of course that is code for stupid.
Her take on the election she lost was Donald Trump and nothing but Donald Trump. Yes, it was those misogynistic men who voted. You see, helpless women did not vote with their minds, but the minds of their husbands who told them what to do.
In Hillary’s world people are stupid, especially when it is any negative toward Hillary. She rattled on about Trump’s withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal. Naturally that was a “big mistake” since her fingerprints were all over the deal.
Former Prime Minister Julia Gillard once called Former PM Tony Abbott a misogynist, and lefty women loved that. So Melbourne’s lefty audience was probably happy to hear Hillary’s tale of woe. The Australian national broadcaster, the Australian Broadcasting Commission has also been trashing Donald Trump since before the election. They were really a warm up act for Hillary, and must have helped fill the room.
Hillary was a big hit though with reporters looking for a story. She delivered big time. In her murky assessment of the Iranian nuclear agreement, America would be safer by trusting our sworn enemy to live up to a deal hat could end up causing the death of millions of Americans.
Never mind that. Newspaper accounts of her visit portrayed her as “disarmingly honest.” Hillary Clinton, the two-time loser never could get the message straight in her own country that she was unlikeable and unelectable. She needed to reinforce that perception to a worldwide audience.
Alas, there is money to be made by these appearances. Between writing her highly panned book full of excuses for losing the presidential election and restarting the faltering Clinton Foundation, there is money to be made trashing her own country and its people.
Forget about retiring or showing any semblance of dignity. This is yet another fundraising season for Hillary. It is much like every season since the late 1970s.
Many Republicans are really happy that she is still complaining, sucking up the Democrat limelight. Democrats, on the other hand, are not happy at all. For the past year, they have wanted her to stop complaining and do something useful for the party. Looks like it will never happen.
She is reminiscent of a comment the late Andy Rooney made years ago on “60 Minutes.” The topic was trailer parks. Rooney said, “If they’re mobile homes, why don’t they ever go away?”
The same can be said about Hillary. Does she ever go away?
