‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ Killing Any Democratic Message

The world stood still for liberals when Donald Trump became president. After eight years enjoying their “progressive” ally in the White House that fit their version of America, the orgy of worship ended abruptly. ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ is killing any Democratic party message.

America has witnessed some horrific events in its history. From the Civil War and World War I to World War II and the Cuban Missile Crisis, the country has endured. But such sacrifice is vacant in the eyes of a raging liberal. In their world, losing the 2016 election is beyond catastrophe, it is the loss of power.

It’s not as if they could not see it coming. From the beginning of “their” leader’s first term in January 2009, their power was fading from the stroke of the pen that signed the Obamacare law without a single Republican vote. The liberals felt emboldened with this new sense of power, but they were losing the confidence of the American people.

It only took another 18 months to see the next crack in their political power structure when the Democrats lost the House in 2010. That was followed in short order in 2014 with the loss of the Senate majority. The rout was on almost before they knew what hit them.

Their idolized leader managed to inch through the 2016 presidential election. Barack Obama was doing fine, but those around him in elected office were not. While he basked in the media’s high praise, Democrats were getting lonelier by the day everywhere else.

During Barack Obama’s years at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, his party lost over 1000 federal and statewide elected offices. The writing was on the wall and change was in the air.

Obama’s time was up in January 2017 and his replacement had to be found. The safe bet was former secretary of state Hillary Clinton. But she was not Obama with his charm and charisma. The party was about to find out she would be the latest casualty in a rapidly changing America.

The election was lost to a populist named Donald Trump. He was everything they hated. He was rich beyond many people’s wildest dreams and he achieved the presidency without the help of core Washington, lobbyists or back room corporate money. He was not one of them, the media loathed him, and he loathed them back.

Their hatred strangely grows stronger as good news for America continues to happen. The unemployment rate has spiraled down for months. That includes historical lows for their perceived base of African-Americans, Hispanics and women. The stock market and the economy continue to soar with a recent all-time high on Wall Street and 4.1 percent GNP.

The Democrats send a message of utter disgust through their surrogates in most media outlets. It has been labeled ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.’ Their target is anyone who remotely approves of this president and includes everything from open mockery to destroying people’s lives.

There is never a concession that perhaps Trump campaigned better, resonated with the American people or that their candidate was simply inadequate. That is not part of their rhetoric which always blames the other guy.

Trump admirers are constantly told they are racists, Nazis, intolerant, homophobic, Islamophobic, extreme, hurtful, etc. It is not merely words, but actual confrontation with members of the government even as they eat with their families in restaurants. The ‘resistance,’ as they like to be called, despise this duly elected president. It has caused this opposition to resort to banana republic tactics that many of them find reasonable and just.

Clinical psychologist Jennifer Panning of Evanston, Ill., called the condition ‘Trump Anxiety Disorder.’ Symptoms are specifically due to Trump’s election and its aftermath that includes the defeat of ISIS, a call for strong borders, record low unemployment, soaring economy and peace talks with North Korea. This has created an unpredictable sociopolitical climate for disheartened liberals who have seen their power slowly fade away.

The helplessness and fretting was mimicked in the media. Trump was accused of Russian collusion and an investigation began with the full force of the DOJ and other federal agencies. Wild accusations and innuendo pervade the social media enclaves. ‘Safe places’ have been secured for sensitive liberals on the nation’s college campuses.

The level of hatred has even brought a former national security official under Obama to call Trump’s dealings with Russian President Vladimir Putin “treasonous.” That is no different than calling for his execution.

The truth be told, people are keeping more of their hard-earned money, forecasted higher wages, a safer world and actual optimism for the future. America is witnessing the longest job-growth streak in history.

Psychologists and academics should look a bit harder at the ‘disorder’ problem. In emanates from the weak Democratic Party leadership that is rudderless. They have always counted on the liberal media to do their dirty work, but it now seems many Americans don’t believe the words they spew.

One of the media’s most unreported facts is that many Democrats have had enough of the far left taking control of the narrative. They feel misled, manipulated and fed up with so-called socialists and other miscreants hijacking their beloved party.

Moderate Democrats look with horror at their most popular presidential hopefuls in 2020. They cringe in the shadows, afraid of retribution, as the lineup includes sure losers such as rookie California Senator Kamala Harris, being groomed by the far left to be the ‘female Obama.’

Then there is the favorite of the parents’ basement crowd; socialist Bernie Sanders. Not to be outdone is ultra-liberal Senators Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker.

But the possible doom of the Democratic Party is right under their noses with a better-than-even shot of yet another comeback; Hillary Clinton. In today’s celebrity worship, she has the name and the money to pull it off. Her nomination would be the onset of the most divisive election since Lincoln v Douglas in 1860.

We all know what began just one year after Lincoln v Douglas. That would be the bloodiest war America has ever fought – amongst themselves.
