Barack Obama and ‘New Age’ Christianity

Senator Obama believes in a mixture of new age philosophy and a diluted form of Christianity.

Make no mistake about it; this election is about much more than this election. There is truly a spiritual battle going on and it seems that many people who call themselves Christians are fast asleep.

The economy, the war on terror, etc. are simply by-products of the moral decline in America.

New Agers believe it is OK to find your own way to God. People of the new age movement have basically denounced Christianity and Jesus Christ as outdated and primitive.

In Senator Obama’s book he mentions that his mother made him read from the Bible, the Koran, and other writings from the world’s major religions. This is why he proclaims that there are many paths to God and that Jesus is not the only way into Heaven.

Babies don’t ask to be born, and under Senator Obama’s administration the fetus may become the most dangerous place in America!

If you believe that you are smart enough to contradict God, then you are worshipping the wrong God. If you do not believe in the Bible and you do not believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life, then you are not a Christian!

This has been a very interesting election to say the least. Both parties are pulling out all the stops. It is more interesting how loosely the term “Christian” is being thrown around.

I preface my writings by first stating that I am a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. My loyalty first goes to Jesus Christ. Everything that I say and everything that I believe is filtered through the filter of Christianity. All my views and all my beliefs are bounced off the authority of scripture. I therefore have surrendered my will, my opinions, and everything else to my belief in what God says in His Word, the Holy Bible. That is how it is supposed to be; if you read and understand the Bible in its entirety it is about the creator of the universe demonstrating His love and His power for mankind through His inerrant word.

The primary definition of what real Christianity is about can be found in the book of Acts. If you have never read it you should. I believe that if most Christians really read and understood the book of Acts they would change their views about their faith or lack of. Most people who say they are Christians don’t understand the Bible and therefore really don’t have a valid view of what it really means.

I read through Senator Barack Obama’s book entitled “Audacity of Hope.” It is a very well written piece of writing. I am a writer myself and so I can appreciate a well written book. Based on what is in Senator Obama’s book and based on what I have seen in his public service, some themes are very clear to me. Senator Obama believes in a mixture of new age philosophy and a diluted form of Christianity.

Make no mistake about it; this election is about much more than this election. There is truly a spiritual battle going on and it seems that many people who call themselves Christians are fast asleep.

We have become so enthralled in the economy and health care that we have forgotten the more important issues plaguing the US as a society. The economy, the war on terror, etc. are simply by-products of the moral decline in America. I truly believe that the people who claim to be Christians are to blame. I also know that if we continue in this decline, the economy and all other issues will only get worse.

Let me get back to this “new age” position that I spoke of earlier. The term “new age” is a term for some of the more popular far eastern religions. New Agers believe it is OK to find your own way to God. People of the new age movement have basically denounced Christianity and Jesus Christ as outdated and primitive. They claim to be “progressive” and that we should make God into whatever we need Him to be. In Senator Obama’s book he mentions that his mother made him read from the Bible, the Koran, and other writings from the world’s major religions. This is why he proclaims that there are many paths to God and that Jesus is not the only way into Heaven.

Senator Obama’s theology is inclusive of all people. He doesn’t really stand for any one point, morally, because everyone’s beliefs should be considered equally relevant, which is why he accepts all of the world’s religions as valid ways to God. He states that he believes that same sex unions should be recognized by law and this is also why he doesn’t want to limit abortions at any stage of pregnancy, even if the baby survives an abortion attempt. This is the scariest part of his voting record that I have seen.

I think it is backwards for us to fight for the working class people, to accept everyone’s right to make their own path to God; and even tell us we cannot impose our beliefs in the sanctity of human life and marriage, yet deny the most basic right of human life – to be born. Babies don’t ask to be born, and under Senator Obama’s administration the fetus may become the most dangerous place in America!

But let me get to the most important issue here. As a true Christian I must realize that if my opinion differs from God’s Word than I am wrong. The Bible states that God created everything and he knows the end from the beginning. Due to those facts I believe it is sheer foolishness for me to believe that my opinion is just as important as the Word of God. If you believe that you are smart enough to contradict God, then you are worshipping the wrong God. Finally, if you do not believe in the Bible and you do not believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life, then you are not a Christian!
