Folsom Live is non-stop music at 10 venues in historic Folsom 5pm Saturday September 29th, 2007.

    “Those Hoodlum Friends” – “The Clown Princes of Rock ‘N’ Roll,” The Coasters were the first vocal group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on January 21, 1987. They have appeared in 6 major movies and have amassed over 100 million record sales in their career.

    Earlier this month, there was a “So You Think You Can Play Guitar” Competition, an invitation-only competition to give guitarists a chance to show what they can do. Each had five minutes to show their stuff. Amplifiers were provided and they used their their own guitar.

    In bothe the Electric Guitar and Accoustic Competition, there were 1st place and runner-up prizes. All 4 winners will perform live on stage at Folsom Live.

    Tickets for Folsom Live! are available at Dimple Records and Powerhouse Pub. They are $25 in advance and online or $30 on the Day of the event, at the gate. You can also get a $99 Party Pack discount – four tickets with four beverages – $5 value each beverage.

    If you come in by train, note that the last train back to Sacramento leaves Folsom at 11:30pm.

Technical Expertise

Alan is also a techie. His father was a British soldier in the 4th Indian Division in WWII, with Sikhs and Gurkhas. He was a sergeant in signals and after that, he was a printer who typeset magazines and books on his linotype machine. Those skills were passed on to Alan and his brothers, who all worked for Telecom Australia, on more advanced signals (communications). After studying electronics, communications, and computing at college, and building and repairing all kinds of electronics, Alan switched to programming and team building and management.

He has a fascination with shooting video footage and video editing, so watch out if he points his Canon 7d in your direction.
