Folsom Fourth Thursday Night Market Photos

Big smiles for Folsom Fourth Thursday Night Market.

Folsom’s fourth Thursday Night Market for 2007 started with perfect weather, the temperature around 90 degrees.

It was really nice for the visitors, but on the cool side for the water dunking crew from GoldRush Magazine (Sean) and Folsom Living (Adam). Armed with a large water pistol, Sean and Adam braved the icy waters to raise money for local charities. They are hoping for higher temperatures next Thursday.

This week, the band, “Have Mercy,” a group of musical doctors from Mercy Hospital switched places with Bicycle Valet group next to the Chamber of Commerce in Wool Street and that seemed to be a great move, making it easier for visitors to see the Valet area and providing a more shady sport for spectators. As more people discover the bike valet parking each week, more will leave their cars at home.

The Farmer’s Market expanded this week and it was moved into a different position along Sutter Street, near the top of the 800 block, making it easier for the farmers to park their vehicles, give them more shade and making it easier to access the stalls and select produce.

Although there appeared to be more people this week, pedestrian traffic flow was better and according to the people I spoke to, a nice improvement.
