For over a decade, the Folsom Police Department and the Twin Lakes Food Bank joined forces to collect food and toys for families in need in the Folsom area.
A welcomed tradition during the Christmas season, the “Christmas Basket” provides an opportunity to help less fortunate families who live right here in Folsom. Last year, over 550 families received baskets. With the increasing number of families requesting baskets throughout the past few years, the help of local businesses, community organizations, schools, and residents make the “Christmas Basket” a success!
Last week, donors delivered non-perishable foods and new, unwrapped toys to the Folsom Police Department. To adopt a local family, call the Twin Lakes Food Bank at 985-6232. To make a monetary donation, send your check to the “Christmas Basket,” c/o Folsom Police Department, 46 Natoma Street, Folsom, CA 95630.
Residents needing a food and/or toy basket applied at the Police Department and at Twin Lakes Food Bank. Applications are now closed.
The City of Folsom’s Executive Management Team, along with city employees, scouts, and many other volunteers support the “Christmas Basket” by lending a hand on donation pick up day from the local schools and also on basket distribution day.
Baskets are to be distributed on Monday, December 22, 2008, from 9am to 1pm, at 817 Wales Drive, in the Raleys Shopping Center.
