It was a truly amazing sight, as a crowd of several thousand gathered to watch the Folsom Cattle Drive, at the new time of 6pm.
Ahead of the parade and the cattle drive itself, came a rolling, roar, as 40 Bullipedes came thundering down Historic Sutter Street in Folsom California.
Folsom is one of the only remaining cattle drives that has live longhorn cattle running down the main street, each year.
With announcer, Adam Frick, from FolsomLiving.com cheering them on, the Bullipedes, organized by the Sacramento Running Association in conjunction with the Folsom Pro Rodeo, started the Pro Rodeo Kick Off Celebration.
According to the Bullipedes website, www.bullipedes.org, “The Running of the Bullipedes” is a wild and wacky one-mile foot race through Old Town Folsom for teams of five runners who must be connected and must run together. It’s a slightly modified “centipede” running competition.
The crowd loved it and it seems like it will become another tradition in Folsom each year.
