Guests for the May 14, 2006 Talk Show are:

Anita Coyoli-Cullen Co-Founder “Ukes for Troops and President -Greater Los Angeles chapter of Operation Homefront is the 52 year old mother of Sgt. Diane Gilliam, a 30 year old female, disabled combat veteran of the Afghanistan War. Diane entered the California National Guard in March 2000, which was the beginning of an adventure that neither one of them ever dreamed they would be taking.

Diane was being trained as an interrogator and, as most National Guard members, had never planned to be deployed, but the war changed all that for everyone. When she was deployed to Afghanistan in August of 2003 she found a country that needed our help and while there enlisted the help of many friends and others to provide her comrades, the Afghani children, and the stray cats that she had adopted, with items to make their lives easier.

Diane’s mission was cut short on November 23, 2003 when the helicopter she was riding in crashed, killing five other passengers and leaving Diane disabled. Diane now suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and some other physical injuries.

It was also an Official Entry of ARPA International Film Festival 2003, the NY Greek Cultural Center Indie Film Festival, and the New Orleans Media Experience 2003.

Marie Bonilla is the proud mother of two children, her son LCPL Anthony Vidales who is in the Marine Corps and her daughter Julie Ann Passow (formerly Vidales). Marie became a mother at the tender age of 17 and after having spent years in homes of extended family members and foster care, was excited to get a chance at being the mother she never had.

Her son, Anthony, was active in sports in high school and was on the wrestling team, going all the way to the state championship. LCPL Vidales joined the Marines a few days after his high school graduation in response to the terror attacks of 9/11. Initially his mom Marie told him he could not join, but he felt he needed to and after enlisting, asked for her blessing. Marie is now one of the proudest Marine moms around, but still worries constantly about her son. Marie is one of the moms featured in MY CHILD-MOTHERS OF WAR.
