Marine Captain – Son Stays Near Apple Tree

What’s Your Problem, Marine? This job not good enough for you…

Sure it is. Sometimes those willing to give their all for their country are both ambitious and creative enough to do double duty, and not fall far from the ole’ family tree.

Duncan D. (D for Duane) Hunter, son of long-time Republican Duncan Lee Hunter who is today among those campaigning for President, wants the vacant house seat his father Duncan Lee leaves behind.

Thing is, D D owes the Marines Corps some time. A reservist called back to active duty Duncan Duane is currently on his way to Iraq for the third time. He has determined that he can from the war zone, direct his own electoral campaign for his father’s old job.

30-year-old Duncan disquiets naysayers who mumble he’s riding the flying tail of daddy’s horse. Younger Hunter doesn’t dispute that, asking, “What are the choices?”

Good point. When dad is so well known it’s not easy to disassociate one’s self. Then there’s the not-falling-far-from-the-apple-tree thing, family thing, nobody wants to break up a family unless your dad has an addiction to crack cocaine and prison food.

Young Duncan says, “I’m running under my own credentials.” He is convinced Congress is in need of Vets who know what war is, in order to make better decisions.

In May Hunter plans to announce his platform. Till then he’s helping Duncan Lee, conservative Republican who has represented San Diego for 14 terms, today as top Republican on the House Armed Services Committee.

Also a conservative, D D shares his father’s politics focus by opposing illegal immigration, he too wants an International border fence along the south of the United States.

When queried by NewsBlaze about the wisdom of running an election campaign from the war zone of such a politically unpopular war, Hunter’s office didn’t flinch. Iraq is unpopular with the American public admittedly, “But that’s not the 52nd District” they state.
