The Rats are Leaving The Ship Called The ‘SS Obamacare’

Affordable Care Act

This may be the classic case of “I told you so.”

The Affordable Care Act and all its fallacies are beginning to hit home with very same politicians who voted for it initially three-years ago.

It was House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi who was the main politician responsible for the heavily lobbied passage of Obamacare in the middle of the night in the Spring of 2010.

Nowhere to Be Seen

Now she is nowhere to be seen concerning the law’s increasing problems before its January 1, 2014 enactment. She has given no interviews on the problems to any known media source.

The Democrats are fully responsible for this flawed law and most voted on the 2300 page monstrosity before even bothering to read its contents. Now many of those same Democrats are in favor of repealing portions of it?

The sheer audacity of these politicians should anger the American electorate who trust these men and women to do their jobs with the country’s best intentions in mind. It’s amazing that many of these same people continue to win elections.

Key Factor Allowing Obamacare

The mainstream media and their almost blind support of Obama are a key factor in allowing Obamacare to move forward with almost no coverage on the incredible waste involved in the law and the sideshow laws it produces that little if anything to do with health care.

In many cases, the media actually blames the Republicans for the many failures of the law long before its official enactment in January.

Huh?

Remember when the Democrats were brought to their knees over one provision of the law that allowed for a tax on medical devices? When word spread about this, they ran like rats into their holes and pronounced their indignation.

The biggest story in 2013 will be all the loyal advocates of Obamacare in 2010 running for cover and blaming the White House for the growing anger. They aren’t called politicians for nothing.

Plight of Medicare Advantage

The most harmful and unpopular parts of the Affordable Care Act continue to ramp up in an accelerated fashion. After the Senate renounced the 2.3 percent medical device tax 79-20, now comes the laughable pleading by many Democrats to reconsider the plight of Medicare Advantage.

The liberals have publicly ridiculed the program for years. But now they suddenly realize that Advantage provides private insurance coverage to more than one in four seniors.

Whoops.

However, the puppet bureaucrats running the Health and Human Services Department don’t answer to voters. No, they actually wrote draft regulations that cut Medicare Advantage more severely than the law dictated in Obamacare.

Those very cuts will be seen in the hardest hit states where seniors reside such as Oregon, where 42% of Medicare beneficiaries use Advantage or Florida (37%), New York (33%), California (37%) and Arizona (38%).

These additional slashes to Medicare Advantage suddenly appeared in February, eleven months before Obamacare goes into full enactment. The outrage was immediate. Over 100 congressional members have protested to HMS including 26 Democrats in the House and 13 in the Senate.

Who are Some of These Politicians?

They include dedicated liberals including New York Senator Chuck Schumer and his protege, Junior Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

How many Americans actually believe these two major advocates of the Affordable Health Care Act actually read the 2300 page bill? Up until recently, neither of them seemed to be able to resist a glowing interview on the law or a photo-op.

Obamacare supposedly begins in earnest January 1, 2014. That will allow the American electorate a full 10 months to see for themselves how socialized medicine works in this country.

What then? Midterm elections are held in November.
