Royal Institution and Democracy Can End Corruption in Nepal

opinions

We Nepalese people are suffering from the traitors who are destroying the unity, and the identities of Nepal! The Nepalese democratic exercise faced a black period 2005-2011. During this period, Nepalese people tolerated the worst political practices made by corrupt leaders-NC, UML and Maoist. The nation achieved extreme heights of lawlessness, theft, robbery, ransom and murders. The corruption is out of control. Nobody is responsible for controlling the corruption. The leaders-Congress, UML and Maoist, who are in regime, are following the agendas of Republic, Secularism and Federalism to destroy the country which is not the issue of Nepal. The Republic equals Fragmentation, Secularism equals Terrorism and Federalism equals Feudalism.

Former Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai- one of the founders of NC passed away (1924-2011) who was a supporter of monarchial democracy. Due to the supporting of the Monarchial democracy and Hindu Kingdom, he became most popular. He stood steadfast and never abandoned his principles for the shake of power and privileges until his last breath. He was non-corrupt nationalist. He had a sharp sense of humor who could satire to everybody.

When he became Prime minister two times he was with one trunk (old box), one water jar and one umbrella and after his tenure of PM, he returned with the same three things but not valuable armaments and money. But, when he became PM-1990, during the visit in India, due to his nonsense advisers, one blunder we found that a statement was signed on 10 June in 1990 that lacked remarks over alleged Indian blockade on Nepal. The view of common money and Common River was introduced- a move that broke the backbone of nation’s industrial sectors. I am not a congress man, but personally, BP and Krishna Prasad Bhattarai appreciated my nationalistic writing. I had presented my two books- ‘Multi-Party system in Nepal (Only Problems & Suggestions) at 1991 and Bikram Sambat at Narvek hospital-2010. I extend heartiest tribute to late KP Bhattarai.

The founder leaders of NC BP Koirala and KP Bhattarai were the supporter of Nepalese monarchial democracy. They believed that Nepal cannot remain safe and protected by sidelining monarchy that has remained the protector of the people and the main stem of Nepalese sovereignty. Former Prime Minister B.P Koirala, after his return from exile in 1977 had said-‘Monarchy was needed, not just to the Nepali Congress but to all, those who want this country safe and protected. He did not mean the ruler should be cruel. Everyone should be united and this was his policy of reconciliation.’ In the context of ethnical issues, B.P. used to say that it was anti-national and treachery to incite and instigate the ethnic groups, Madhesis, Pahadis, Limbus, Rais and others to weaken the country. But Girija, (former PM) BP’s sibling is breaking up the country by advocating republic, secularism and federalism. This was exactly what Girija has done. The traitor-Girija always humiliated the democratic leaders- Ganeshman Singha and Krishna Prasad Bhattarai. Due to Girija’s corrupt leadership, the country has fallen into dangerous position.

The Constituent Assembly was a grand design of India to destroy this country. It is a matter of joke that the deceitful CA and the 601 puppet members of CA do not do any good for Nepalese politics. It was a great mistakes of Nepali Congress to support the CA. Nepali Congress could not keep in mind the ideology of BP, KP and Ganeshman Singh in the 12th Convention held on 2010 Sept 17th-22nd. Without ideology what can the party and their followers do for the country? The NC party has given up its political ideology of the founder of NC BP Koirala, Ganeshman Singha and KP Bhattarai. So, one of the founders of NC party- Bhattarai refused to attend the 12th Convention and denied the invitation forwarded by the president of NC, ‘because the NC-party went for fake norms and deviated from the path of BP Koirala the constitutional monarchy, democracy, and nationalism.’

After the death of Krishna Prasad Bhattarai: Pradip Giri, one of the Nepali Congress leaders has said- ‘Krishna Prasad Bhattarai was an extremely happy person. His stance was against the Constituent Assembly. He had a deep spiritual conviction. He really did believe that constitutional monarchy was the best thing for Nepal. He stood for his belief like the rock.’ Similarly, Veteran journalist Yuvraj Ghimire says- ‘His ideological standing was alone when Nepali Congress had lost its ideological stance.’ Former NC leader and former minister, Achyut Raj Regmi, said- ‘Nepali Congress did not regard Krishna Prasad Bhattarai who had been saying that the country like Nepal cannot be adjusted as a republic, but constitutional monarchy is obligatory for this nation.’ Dinbandu Aryal, former Minister and NC leader, says- ‘Our reverence for Krishna Prasad Bhattarai is on account of his firm belief that Nepal cannot exist in absence of the royal institution and its identity as a Hindu Kingdom.’

A pamphlet had been disseminated by the Civil society at Dasharath Stadium-Kathmandu during the last offering of KP Bhattarai’s mortal body-‘ There was a hassle and competition of offering flowers and garlands over his demised body. Before his death, he had been assuring his followers to place respect for the constitutional monarchy. When NC embraced the secularism, republic and federalism from then on he relinquished Nepali Congress. Then, Nepali Congress entrapped into the trap of autocratic communist. KP had urged the people and his followers to accept the path of the constitution-1990. So, we should not be dilly dallying to implement the feelings of KP Bhattarai.’

The founder of NC BP Koirala used to say- ‘The state of Nepal cannot remain without monarchy and even socialism can co-exist with monarchy in Nepal.’ After the declaration of republic, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai said, ‘The country has been facing a series of problems due to the mistake of abolishing the royal institution.’ He always supported the democracy with constitutional monarchy. So, if Nepali Congress wants to be established as a strong political party there should be implemented the political ideology of BP Koirala & Krishna Prasad Bhattarai- ‘the Monarchial Democracy in Nepal.’

The formation of Nepal is a collective effort of its monarchs and the people. But, when B.P. Koirala was Prime minister (1959-61), the Indians started cheating Nepal taking advantage their friendship with him. King Mahendra would not have dared to take the step of 1961 if the country had not fallen into a deep crisis. 48 years ago, King Mahendra had sacrificed himself to save the country. After the King took over power in 1961 he started so many reforms like- He banned foreigners from buying land and property in Nepal, Indian soldiers that were positioned here on the pretext of protecting Nepal were removed with any condition, Nepalese currency were made compulsory in transaction instead of Indian currency, the construction of East-West Highway was started when before that Nepalese had to use Indian route to reach from one district of Nepal to another. When Hindi language was almost gobbled up, Nepalese language was restarted the official language and was made compulsory in curriculum. More than 50 industries were established. Land reform programmed was implemented and the civil code outlawed all kinds of discriminations and untouchables. Why the Congress & Communists are forgetting the contributions of King Mahendra? I think they have no answer.

A Swiss geologist and scholar, Toni Hagen first came in 1950 as a member of the Swiss Mission for Development Aid. His first job was to conduct Nepal’s first geological survey. About the reality of the Nepalese politics and the intention of King Mahendra he said- ‘I call back December 1960 when King Mahendra staged the royal coup. I never agreed with King Mahendra this step. On the other hand, I would say looking back into the history that King Mahendra was a very great personality. It is mainly for his merit that Nepal survived as an independent country between two big neighbors. He was very clever and handled the delicate issues.’ -25 Nov.1992- Weekly newspaper- The Independent’ So, I have been proposing that King Mahendra’s nationalism and BP Koirala’s democratic socialism should be coordinated to develop the country.

It is outrageous that the Congress, UML and the Maoists are toeing the line on the agenda and guidelines of the Indian intelligence agency, RAW and CIA, they pose a danger to the country’s existence. Leaders of the political parties are always tangled up in petty disputes and are carelessly playing with the prestige of the nation. The Nepalese Maoists, and many other Left leaders (who are blind about Nepalese nationality) are obsessed and gripped with the idea of making Nepal a Republic state. How could they establish sovereignty just by removing a Monarchy without any logical and rational reasons? This would only be a ‘Herculean Attempt’ without any logic and even absurd.

The Nepalese King of Nepal never sold the nation, he never bent before foreigners, and never killed his own people – and will never do so. I wouldn’t say this if I was a citizen of Japan (even though there’s is a monarchy), America, Egypt or any other nation, in those countries, I would have said that the nation will survive without the monarchy-but I am in Nepal. The geographical and class reality of Nepal is such, that the absence of the monarchy means there will no longer be a Nepal.

The so-called big parties have made a great mistake by announcing Nepal as a republic. Nepal and the Nepali people, spread across the world, is very angry at the rude intervention by India.

Girija was the leaders of Maoist, UML and Congress, in the time of uprising- 2006 that took oaths from the King at the royal palace according to the 1990 constitution and then betrayed the King. The 1990 constitution is not dead. The King should be reinstated as per the 1990 constitution. Now the so-called Loktantric (traitor’s) regime has failed. So according to the late NC leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and many Nepalese nationalists, ‘there is only one alternative to return to the 1990 Constitution. The permanent organization that can protect the nation and its identity is the royal institution.’ We need to coordinate and balance the Nepali nationality, royal institution and democracy, bring the prevalent corruption to an end and to focus on development of backward regions and classes against the foreign intervention. I suggest that the king needs to form an inclusive cabinet under the leadership of the Maoist chairman Prachanda (being a controversial leader) or a former chief justice and find a solution with that backing. Only this option will open the doors for political resolution in Nepal.
