President Barack Obama Now Called ‘King of Hypocrisy’

It was just days ago the King of Hypocrisy, President Obama stood in parched Central California and rattled off a speech/lecture to the American people about global warming, … er climate change now, since the progressives weren’t getting through to dubious ears with the former phrase.

This last weekend, Obama spent his time at the billionaire Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands in Rancho Mirage, California playing golf. He is expected to return to Washington by Monday night.

Who can forget his call for shared sacrifice to help manage the state’s worst water-shortage in decade’s only days earlier, yet he goes from his lecture/speech to a location that has its own private 19 hole (correct) golf course that is known in the desert, along with the hundreds of other golf courses, as “water hogs.”

Make sense?

The president played at multiple golf outings at some of Palm Spring’s most exclusive golf courses with his school buddies. On Saturday, Obama played at the Sunnylands estate, built by the late billionaire Walter Annenberg (re-distribution of wealth conscience problems there? – Nah.), which features a nine-hole course that is played like 18 holes.

The next day it was off to another multi-billionaire’s retreat, Larry Ellison of Oracle (whoops, there’s that nasty “share the wealth problem” again), to his 19-hole Porcupine Creek. Today he hit the links again at Sunnylands once again.

The 124 golf courses in the Coachella Valley consume roughly 17 percent of all water in that area. That’s one quarter of the water pumped out of the region’s at-risk groundwater aquifer, according to the Coachella Valley Water District.

The locals realize the mess they are in with the ongoing drought and are trying to do something about it. Obama is, knowingly or not, now the “King of Hypocrisy” for his endeavors in the dry and thirsty West.

Water data for Porcupine Creek was not available, though the 246-acre property reportedly features an “80-foot-diameter fountain ringed with 90 individually lit jets that shoot water up to 80 feet high.”

Earlier, before this “Destination of Hypocrisy,” Obama had said in Los Banos, hundreds of miles north of Palm Springs, “It can’t just be a matter of there’s going to be less and less water so I’m going to grab more and more of a shrinking share of water. Instead what we have to do is all come together and figure out how we all are going to make sure that agricultural needs, urban needs, industrial needs, environmental and conservation concerns are all addressed.”

He’s a nice example of that.

The Republican response? “We have seen this brand of hypocrisy from President Obama before. This time it seems his soap box doubles as a tee box,” said RNC spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski.
