Political Correctness Dominating American Lives

opinions

In the book “1984” George Orwell made predictions about this nation and that our language would be curtailed to the point where one would be afraid to speak, meaning free speech would be eliminated.

He also predicted our police would have the right to enter any homes without a warrant; and our government agencies would have files on law bidding citizens.

“Big Brother” was watching and we as a free people would be constantly on guard of our personal records and information.

Today 2014

In God we Trust was our motto but it seems not what America is about anymore.

Our Supreme Court has ignored our Motto and has delivered the phrase of “pass it on” as its cry of defense, as the 10th district court decided to make same-sex marriages a standard for America even for those states that do not want them.

Same-sex marriages will be the downfall of this nation and its government. A nation of free people who believe in God and have faith in him, cannot allow this political correctness to continue.

How And Why This Has Happened?

It is a new social need for political correctness, which dominates our lives and tells us what is right and what is wrong. We as free thinking and free speech people have lost a battle if political correctness is not stopped, we will lose our basic freedoms. Television and Radio dominate our thinking and they, in harmony with government, are dictating political correctness.

Damn the political correctness! It has gone too far, too many times. Political people or those who run this nation are not correct, and if anyone thinks they are, then you too must pay the price for our fall. Every time I hear the political correctness phrases it makes my blood boil.

Alleged robbery, or the alleged victim, or the alleged perpetrator, a person with a criminal record cannot be discriminated against because of its impact against minorities; where is all this heading?

Are we trying to replace God with Political correctness?

I certainly know the difference between good manners and being political correct. Anyone when speaking in plain English can say something that may not be politically correct but it makes sense to them and those they are speaking with but those who think in terms of political correctness can crucify them in public.

When I was growing up, we were taught how and when to speak, and never to deliberately say something that would embarrass or offend another person with plain English; because it was called good manners not politically correctness.

Changes

From common sense, political correctness has developed.

Rest rooms were for Men and Women not transgenders.

Climate change in my childhood meant you were at a higher altitude.

A thug was a person who stole or robbed, not a person who defended themselves.

A brown bagger was taking your lunch to school or to work in a brown bag, not an ugly sex object.

Giving a bible to another person was an act of love not a bible thumping Christian…

Jesus Christ is God, not a word to be banned from saying or mentioning at schools.

Forcing a minister to perform gay marriages is not freedom of speech or freedom of religion or individual rights.

Being Gay meant one was happy, not a homosexual.

Negro was a person from Africa and the N word was rude and not acceptable.

The Ten Commandments were respected and they were a standard for conduct.

Christmas was the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ not just a happy holiday greeting.

Thanksgiving was a day of thankfulness and appreciation for our many blessings, not a day off or before Black Friday.

An American was just that, we were Americans, not African Americans or Mexican Americans we were all Americans.

The law required that anyone who wanted to become an American Citizen had to go through the process for citizenship. But, isn’t the word citizenship, a word not used in Washington anymore, because of Political Correctness?
