Hillary’s Worst Nightmare – Dr. Ben Carson for GOP Nomination

In mid-March, the story Dr. Ben Carson Tells It Like It Is To Republicans And All Americans talked about a Republican presidential hopeful known as “the dark horse” in the field. A 62 year old black neurosurgeon, Dr. Carson was starting to gain a relatively new following in conservative circles.

At that time, he wasn’t convinced that he should run for office, but according to a new story in the May 19 edition of The Weekly Standard, he may now be considering a 2016 run for president.

If this is true, he could be the most formidable of all the current Republican candidates to run against the Hillary Clinton campaign money machine.

The “glass ceiling” nonsense goes right out the door for Hillary if Dr, Ben Carson takes her on for President of the United States.

Ms. Clinton’s team has been preparing to use their nonsensical “glass ceiling for women” routine, to beat down any male contender, republican or democrat.

That approach, which aims to shame people into voting for Hillary because she is supposedly at a natural disadvantage because her opponents are wealthy white men, is not likely to work against a black medical doctor.

Previously, Dr. Carson claimed to have little interest in running for president, but then groups were formed to encourage his candidacy. He continued to pour cold water on the idea, but now he says he is “starting to feel it.”

The retired director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital said his thoughts about running for president were affected by the enthusiastic audiences he has connected with across the country. Thousands of Americans have signed petitions asking Dr. Carson to re-think his non-candidacy.

Dr. Carson wrote in his latest book, One Nation: What We Can All Do to Save America’s Future, “Over the years, there have been many attempts to get me to throw my hat in the political arena. I have been offered support from around the country and tremendous financial resources if I decide to run for national office. But I have not felt the call to run. If I felt called by God to officially enter the world of politics, I would certainly not hesitate to do so.”

Speaking to The Weekly Standard Dr. Carson said he is “starting to feel it. Because every place I go, it’s unbelievable.”

Presidential campaigns are all about the money. Many candidates have run campaigns on a shoestring, but they never gain traction. This year will be no different, and Hillary Clinton leads the way in the money stakes. Her campaign war chest began to fill up long before losing the 2008 Democratic primaries to Barack Obama.

Anyone wanting to challenge Hillary Clinton, will need substantial funding. Dr. Carson is a career doctor, not a career politician, so it is likely that his skills do not include the ability to generate massive fundraising. He will need help from wealthy conservatives such as the Koch brothers, casino tycoon Sheldon Adelson as well as key Republican organizations.

If he does run, it will not be easy. There will be media intrusion into everything he and his family does and has done. If there are any skeltons in his cupboard, he will have to look out for enemies under every rock, and he will need to toughen his political hide.

Dr. Carson said, “I know how vehemently the left will come after you, try to destroy you, try to destroy your family. But at the same time I recognize that people like Nathan Hale, said, ‘My only regret is I have but one life to give to my country.’ And if everybody runs for the hills because they’re afraid that somebody is going to attack them or their family, then the left will have won.”

The question is, can a man with no political experience take on the ultra political conservatives around him, and then take on the Clinton machine?

Assuming he can, this cannot be good news for the Hillary campaign. They will be hoping that his conservative opponents can find some dirt to beat him around, so he never becomes the chosen candidate. His conservative opponents will be much easier to trash. Each one of them has skeletons, and your can bet your last dollar that the Hillary campaign has a strategy for beating each one of them.
