Gov. Jerry Brown Not Sure to Legalize ‘Pot’

With states around the Union legalizing pot, there is pressure on other states to do the same.

Old-time liberal, California Gov. Jerry Brown says he “isn’t sure” that he is for legalizing pot in his state. Brown is worried the country “could lose its competitive edge if too many people are getting stoned.”

Colorado and Washington have already done it, but Governor Brown is holding off, waiting to see how they handle their new laws that go a step further than California’s medial marijuana laws. Those states regulate the growth and sale of pot sold and taxed at state-licensed stores.

It is surprising that Jerry Brown, “Governor Moonbeam,” said that. Perhaps he is worried about the tax base that is already failing to keep the state running.

The governor is worried that if pot smoking gains more legitimacy, after it is advertised on the TV and radio, and in newspapers and magazines, there could be negative repercussions on the state and nation.

Really? Jerry Brown said that?

Could it be true the governor finally realizes what could happen? He said, “The world is dangerous and competitive, so people need to stay alert.”

Speaking to David Gregory on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Governor Brown gave a great soundbite that is sure to be replayed. He said “We need people to stay alert, if not 24 hours a day, more than some of the pot-heads can put together.”

We need people to stay alert, if not 24 hours a day, more than some of the pot-heads can put together.

Pot-smoking Californians will just have to go on a road trip before they go on a pot trip. Washington and Colorado aren’t far away.
