Dr. Ben Carson Says Doctors Have Nothing Positive To Say About Obamacare

opinions

Dr. Ben Carson warns all Americans that he personally is having “great difficulty” locating doctors with anything positive to say about the “Affordable” Care Law.

Dr. Carson has done something the Obama administration should have done, but has not – actually speak to doctors.

Speaking with Stuart Varney at the Fox News Channel, Dr. Carson mentioned that he has spoken to literally hundreds of physcians across the country about the healthcare law. He told Varney, “not one liked President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law.”

Doctors become doctors because they want to help people, because they want to use their skills to make a difference to people – but not to contribute to bureaucratic procedures.

Dr. Carson said that Obamacare is “profoundly affecting what they are doing. People didn’t sign up to become government employees. They signed up because they were intellectually gifted and wanted to use those gifts, to bring health to their patients, not to satisfy some bureaucrat.”

Interestingly, the retired pediatric neurosurgeon, a staunch Republican, is seriously considering a run for president in 2016.

In his opinion, “It requires real planning. You have to get experts. You have to realize that you aren’t the expert at everything, but that you have to have access to them and you have to know how to coordinate them. Why they weren’t able to do this with something that is one sixth of our economy makes you scratch your head.”

Carson retired in May from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. His first splash on the national scene was attacking the president’s policies at a keynote address at a Prayer Breakfast.

This was a memorable address because president Obama was only feet away from Dr. Carson during his diatribe against Obama and his administration.

Carson added more salt to the president’s wounds and enhanced his own national notoriety when he told the conservative Values Voter Summit that Obamacare is “the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery.”

If Dr. Carson decides not to run for president, he may be an ideal candidate for vice-president. Many others have already started their own campaign fundraising, and many of those already have sizeable warchests.
