Crossfire War – TEHRAN WATCH – Persian Gulf Theatre: Tehran – Muscat – Riyadh – Doha/Washington – Rome – London – Paris – Berlin – Moscow – Tokyo; General Majid Mir Ahmadi Deputy Commander of Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps Suggests Iran Block Strait of Hormuz – 40% of Worlds Daily Oil Commerce

Night Watch: TEHRAN – As European warships patrol in the Eastern Mediterranean in support of UNIFIL and as the U. S. Fifth fleet launches airstrikes against Tehran’s terrorist organization al-Qaeda in southern Somalia, a Deputy Commander of the Pasdaran, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, suggest Iran should block the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf. AKI reports that it was General Majid Mir Ahmadi who stressed the influence Iran has in its ability to control the strait making it a world power since 40% of the international economy‘s oil passes through there on a daily basis. He continued that it, “allows us to weigh on the world economy and confront potential U. S. pressure. If we give in on this issue it will be the end for us because pressure will continue and will influence our entire strategy.” Not to mention the very existence of Tehran’s current government. [AKI]

General Ahmadi is speaking for a government which thrives on crisis. Ever since the Khomeini Islamic revolution in Iran, 1979, crises facing the Islamic Republic served as a strengthening – unifying influence for the entire country. Tehran has definitely prepared itself, since the end of the Iran/Iraq War in 1988, for its final confrontation with the West-India-Russia. Its nuclear weapons program was revived in 1987 and has been employing Russian scientists since the end of the Cold War in 1990. Jihad Central Command is not about the business of establishing peace but destruction, specifically of the enemies of Islam, with Israel being the least in economic importance, which is why Iran’s Defense Ministry conducted, throughout almost all of last year, large scale wargames maneuvers, most of it was not directed at Israel.

Tehran’s military priority is to destroy the West’s historical ability to control and manipulate the region and to provide massive assistance to Islamabad in its coming fourth war with Delhi. If Pakistan is successful then Iran – Pakistan will be able to jointly control the enormous potential and growth of northern India. International financial markets don’t move on who controls the salt in the Dead Sea, but on which bloc of nations are the most prominent maritime societies in the Mediterranean-Aegean-Red – Black Sea – Caspian – Arabian Sea – Indian Ocean – Persian Gulf and ports east.

Israel’s occasional wars with surrounding Arab nations and daily confrontations with a self-destructing Palestinian community are wonderful and exciting conversation pieces promoted on the diplomatic- mythological – analysis circuit. Iran will commit some fanatical Mullah units as a magnanimous gesture in support of Damascus and Hamas, even designate Israel as the holiest front, and then celebrate their martyrdom.

Tehran is aware that more capitals in the West have begun to face the horrific reality that (f)allout war with Iran is unavoidable despite their public diplomatic statements. Iran has also noticed the hundreds of pounds of enriched uranium Berlin just sent to Russia in order to assist Moscow in its military confrontation with Tbilisi, which could erupt into major fighting at any moment. Tehran increased its relations with Tbilisi in order to increase Georgia’s defense budget. Tehran does not want Russia to have an easy war in the South Caucasus just north of Iran, so I suspect Iran’s Defense Ministry has an extreme sense of immediacy.

The general also knows if Iran attacks first, what an Iranian admiral recently described as a “strategic ambush,” Tehran will retain the initiative. I have estimated Iran has enough for one year of offensive warfare.
