Hippest Trip in America: Songs Written By Famed Music Producer, Darren Vegas

CANADA (Sasha Stoltz Publicity): This year marks the 40th anniversary of Soul Train, the longest-running syndicated music program in television history as well as “the hippest trip in America”. Some of the artists who took a ride on the Train performed songs that were written by famed music producer, Darren Vegas. The multi-platinum producer continues to make records behind the scenes, most recently Crooked I’s Hood Star, finally released from the Death Row vault.

“A lot of it was leaked over the Internet. It should’ve been released back in ’02 and gone platinum. Crooked I is a conscious rapper” Darren said.

The album features guest artists K-Ci & Jo-Jo, Juvenile, and Too Short. Its eight years overdue, but the music business can be like that. It was unsettling times at Death Row, but that was then, this is now.

“Death Row was a powerhouse” Darren goes on. “They were the biggest independent label in history. During its prime, Death Row became the face of Hip-Hop and Rap, making superstars out of Snoop Doggy Dogg, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, 2pac and more.

“The business has changed. People don’t buy the CDs they used to. Everything can be downloaded. As far as hip-hop, I think rap will have a big voice if rappers talk about what’s real. It’s now about singles. I think people are sick of the light rap, and wanna to hear what’s real.”

The producers first priority is his Production company, thebeatmafia.com.

The company just signed artist lil g.

“I’m always looking out for new artists” Darren states.
