Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed made it official on Saturday, as the couple became husband and wife after being “happily unmarried” for almost 30 years.
The Kiss bass player and the former Playmate/erotic film actress first met at a party in the Playboy Mansion; they have two children: 19-year-old Sophie and 22-year-old Nick.
Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and talk-show host/comedian Bill Maher were among the 400 guests that attended the wedding, which was outside a hotel in Beverly Hills. The couple exchanged vows written by them, according to People.
Gene proposed to Shannon in Belize with a 24-carat diamond on the July finale of Gene Simmons Family Jewels, which begins their seventh season this Tuesday on A&E.
Shannon Tweed is a former Playboy Playmate and actress.
