Dave Matthews Sax Player Died

music-7

Both the music industry and fans suffered another loss yesterday, when E! Online confirmed that Dave Matthews sax player LeRoi Moore died at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. No cause of death yet at the moment, but it’s been reported that it was because of complications from critical injuries that the 46-year-old had sustained in an ATV crash close to his farm in Charlottesvilla, VA on June 30.

According to a statement released by Dave Matthews on the band’s official website, Moore was set on beginning an “intensive physical rehabilitation program.”

Moore was one of the founding members of DMB, whose hits include “What Would You Say?” and “Crash Into Me.” Formed in Virginia in 1991, the band combines rock, jazz fusion, and jam. The RIAA stated that they sell over 31 million units in America and went on to become one of the Top 100 highest-selling music acts of all time.

A fund has been developed in honor of Moore in support of charities that shows both his spirit and passion. Donations by check referencing the “Charlottesville Area Community Foundation for the LeRoi Moore Memorial Fund” could be mailed at this address:
