Las Vegas is a major destination for travelers. There’s more to do here than you might initially think.
Of course, you’ll want to hit the casinos and do a little sightseeing on the Strip. There’s also fine dining, like the mouthwatering Italian cuisine at Salute and the lunch buffets in the casinos.
But don’t underestimate the overall entertainment options. If you’re looking for some great shows at a reasonable price, Las Vegas is an excellent choice.
2017 is coming to a close, but the final three months of this year feature a series of shows you won’t want to miss. Here’s a list of timeless classics as well as premium shows on the coming schedule.
If you’ll be in Vegas during the month of September, check out Ricky Martin. He’s appearing in the Park Theater at the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino. You’ll be treated to fiery Latin dancing, vivid costumes, and an incredibly charismatic host. Martin is an actor, singer, and dancer who’s been treating fans to his extraordinary performances for years. Tickets are in high demand, so if you want to see the show, book quickly.
Grammy award winner Celine Dion doesn’t tour much these days, but you can always see her on the Strip. She’s earned herself a permanent spot at Caesars Palace, where you can enjoy her all year round. With classics like “Beauty and the Beast,” “Incredible,” and “Because You Love Me,” you’ll be transported back more than two decades ago when her hits were all over the radio, and her albums were bestsellers.
Most people know Mike Tyson by name, but they don’t necessarily know how he became the legend he is today. Mike Tyson: The Undisputed Truth gives you a vulnerable, open look at what he went through in order to dominate in the ring. You’ll learn more about where he grew up and what it took to master his craft.
You could read the book or watch a recording on HBO, but nothing matches the feeling of sitting in the audience while he recites his chilling monologue, and leaves you with multiple, conflicting emotions by the end of the show. In September, October, and November, you can see Mike Tyson: The Undisputed Truth Round 2 with untold stories and a new perspective on this legendary heavyweight boxing champion.
Take a trip down memory lane with The Temptations and their slick tuxedos and greased-back hair. They’ve released more than 36 top-10 hits, and you can hear most of them during their 90-minute show at the Orleans Showroom. They’re only coming to Vegas for two nights in October, so book your tickets before they’re gone.
Raise your hands, ’90s kids, and reserve seats in November to see the Backstreet Boys performing live. They were among the first “hot” boy bands that won the hearts of teenage girls everywhere. Two of their albums sold more than 10 million copies, and over the next few years, they managed 75 million in album sales around the world. They’ll be at the Axis Theater in Planet Hollywood in November, so brush up on the lyrics and get ready to sing along.
Reba and Brooks & Dunn
This November and December, country music icons Reba McEntire, Ronnie Dunn, and Kix Brooks will perform together in Reba, Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas. Collectively, these three singers have more than 45 number-one hits, 15 American Music Awards, 13 Academy of Country Music Awards, 9 Peoples’ Choice Awards, 7 Country Music Association Awards, and 2 Grammys. You can imagine their Vegas appearance will be an amazing musical treat.
For centuries, people have made viewing The Nutcracker ballet a part of their Christmas traditions. You can probably see versions of The Nutcracker a little closer to home, but there’s something special about dancing with the sugar plum fairies at Reynolds Hall inside the Smith Center this December. James Canfield, director of the Nevada Ballet Theatre, promises an exceptional show. There won’t be snow outside, but you’ll feel like you’re in a magical wonderland inside the theater.
Boyz II Men
This soulful R&B a capella group is coming to the Terry Fator Theatre in the Mirage this December. They’ve won four Grammys for their original songs and covers. Their show includes several Motown favorites. They always involve the audience for a fun, unique concert worth seeing. December is a great time to view these epic performers, but there will be future opportunities to catch them because they’ve taken up residence as regular performers on the Strip.
There are dozens of incredible entertainment events you won’t want to miss at the close of this year. Book your entertainment soon because of the high demand for these events. If you somehow miss your booking, don’t worry. There are more than enough shows to keep you entertained during your stay.
