Interactive entertainment software company, Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS), has appointed Rajat Taneja as global Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Mr. Taneja is responsible for driving critical technology decisions and investments for EA, worldwide.
Mr. Taneja arrives at EA after being Corporate Vice President in Microsoft’s Commerce Division. There, Mr. Taneja lead the division responsible for development and deployment of commerce and transaction technologies across Microsoft’s connected services. Those products and services included Xbox Live, Windows Phone, Windows Azure , Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft adCenter and MSN.
Previously Taneja led their online digital advertising platforms, and their first business online service offering.

Prior to his time at Microsoft, Mr. Taneja worked at Digital Equipment Corporation and Wipro Information Technology, Ltd.
Also known as EA Games, Electronic Arts is an American video game developer, marketer, publisher, and distributor. The company headquarters are in Redwood City, California, south of San Francisco.
Earlier this year, in May, the company reported fiscal year revenues of $3.8 billion for the year ending March 2011. In June, the Origin online service launched. The company created Origin to sell downloadable games directly to consumers.
