The Capitol Grill has been referred to as America’s steakhouse by many steak lovers. From coast to coast it has what many call “class personified.” A reporter met Steve Palermo, the managing partner and Dave Sacco, the executive chef partner, who believes the customer, is always right.

Capitol Grill in Las Vegas has an edge over its other locations and that’s its architecturally unique. Situated on the third floor of The Fashion Show Mall, overlooking the Las Vegas strip, it’s quite the view.
Private dining areas are located in various areas of the restaurant, complimented with a rich mahogany bar in the cocktail area. The eloquent setting, enhanced with piped in jazz and an extraordinary view, makes for a more cozy dining experience.
Jackie Ukauka, the sales manager and Michelle Underwood the manager provided my mystery quest with quite the surprise. Starting with a selection of breads, the whole raisin pumpernickel was excellent with selection of Labash, seeded rolls and sourdough. Maria Russo, our waiter then brought us Lobster bisque, with a side of Sherry. That was also delicious, especially with the Sherrie, as I enjoy Lobster bisque served this way.
At this time frame of our culinary journey I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir, Mark West. With an intimate conversation, it was now time for one of Capitol Grills famous salads, the Chopped salad. It consists of field greens, California heirloom tomatoes, corn, radishes, garbanzo beans, chick peas, artichoke hearts, and asparagus, with fresh herbs. An excellent salad indeed! I must admit that Americans often eat larger amounts of food than the Europeans.
I am one of those individuals that practically falls in love with good cuisine. Since my guest is a Vegan, Chef Sacco prepared a wonderful pasta dish with fresh vegetables, roasted tomato, asparagus and mushrooms in an Alfredo sauce. I was served Chilean sea bass with crusted Parmesan, atop spinach and roasted tomato in garlic cheb butter.
The main entrees were complemented with Sam’s mashed potatoes, which are red bliss potatoes made with cream. The potatoes add such a rich taste with the Chilean sea bass that it’s filling and relaxing. Ah, there’s one more matter that we all love and that’s desert.
Strawberries Capitol Grill is the winner when it comes to a flavorful desert. Served with a Port and Grand Mariner sauce, with a scoop of homemade ice cream, is just the way to say good night and sleep the night away.
