Bacon Bigger Than Oprah, CNN and Ashton Kutcher!

All Hail Bacon! Bacon has long been a sizzling “Hot Topic” (pun intended) for years online, at various forums, websites and blogs! But now according to the latest official findings of the “Poynter Institute,” Bacon is taking the Social Media Networks by storm.

Yes my friend, Twitter is totally “Twitter-patted” with bacon. MySpace is mystically mesmerized by its sweet, succulent sizzle. Facebook feels fanatical fascination for bacon’s all encompassing wonder! Digg…. Well, you guessed it, Digg digs bacon.

What the Poynter Institute’s latest findings tell us is that there’s a whole lot of “makin’ of bacon” on the most popular and widely used social media portals. It’s now practically at an epidemic pace, as all of these socially interactive sites are literally pulsating with posts, updates, comments, even clubs / groups dedicated exclusively to the LOVE of Bacon!

For those of you who aren’t up on what’s going on, online, “The Poynter Institute” is an online organization dutifully dedicated to the discussion of current trends and events in the world of journalism news and ethics. If it’s something happening online of significance, The Poynter Institute is covering it!

But they aren’t the only news agency who is “waking up to smell the bacon!” Earlier this month, “NewsU” hosted a “webinar” where the features speaker used the phrase “taking bacon to the next level.” In context, the speaker was referring to the infamous “Bacon Group” on a popular online photo site. Seems these people are making a scene of their multiple scenes of the sweet & salty stuff!

Bacon obsession is all over the social media networks, these “DAZE” (pun intended!)

So while Oprah proudly promoted her publicly performed, televised “Tweet” at Twitter, while thousands freaked out over the latest controversy regarding new “terms of usage” and surprise disabling of accounts over at Facebook and while MySpace continued to seek it’s ever changing place in the social media environment, the one thing that remained consistent was the LOVE of Bacon openly expressed online.

Even Ashton Kutcher and CNN going “head to head” in a frantic race to see who would become the first “Celeb Phenom” to achieve the distinction of having 1,000,000 followers at Twitter, bacon continued to gather more loyal allegiance than both of them put together. That’s just how huge bacon has become over at the Social Media Networking sites, and we think that’s a mighty tasteful situation indeed!
