Go Now: Paul Walker, Vin Diesel and Universal Hook Up for Fast & Furious 5

It is time to Go Now: bringing you the latest. So, let’s get started, shall we?

  • Talks are in place between Paul Walker and Vin Diesel with Universal to reprise their roles as hot roadsters Brian O’Connor and Dominic Toretto in Fast & Furious 5, the follow-up to this week’s #1 winner at the box office race. It is currently in the works. “They know where they want it to take place. They want to do it in Europe” Walker said at www.movie-moron.com.

Even if it’s not a done deal, Diesel is thinking of continuing the character that made him an action hero when the original came out in 2001. “I actually thought about shooting the movies back-to-back with Universal with the president of the Universal and he was like, ‘What? We’re just getting our feet back together'” the actor said in Worst Previews.com. Catch up with Fast & Furious — in theatres now, and check out my review of it at The Student Operated Press.

  • DETROIT: It was Sportstown once again in the Motor City Friday, as the Tigers clawed the Texas Rangers on Opening Day in front of a sellout crowd at Comerica Park by the score of 15-2, and the Pistons obtained a spot in the playoffs when they defeated the Nets at the Palace by the score of 100-93 yet needs two wins to hit the .500 mark. The Pistons go to Indiana against the Pacers tonight at 7pm, so check your local listings.
  • CANADA (Sasha Stoltz Publicity): An immediate press release has stated that NBC Universal has sponsored the premiere of actor Giancarlo Esposito’s directorial debut of Gospel Hill. The film features an all-star cast that includes Danny Glover, Angela Bassett, Julia Stiles, Samuel L. Jackson, and newcomer Taylor Kitsch — telling the story of race relations in the South and how the power of the human spirit can triumph. Winner of this year’s Texas Black Film Festival for “Best Feature Film,” Gospel Hill will be shown at the 9th Annual Reelworld Film Festival this Wednesday at 7:30pm; more about it can be found at its website.
