According to Dallas Speculative Fiction Examiner, Pat Hauldren, actor Jonathan Hardy, 71, died on Monday, July 30, 2012.

Actor with New Zealand Origin

Hardy, according to Wikipedia, was born in New Zealand.

This man’s talents included acting, writing and film directing.

This multi-talented artist is probably best known to international audiences, but try to find one fan, anywhere, who does not remember his work.


Academy Awards

In film, Hardy’s work included The Devil’s Playground (1976), Mad Max (1979), Mr. Reliable (1996) and Moulin Rouge! (2001).


Hardy wrote the screenplay for the film Breaker Morant (1980) for which he received an Australian Film Institute award and was nominated for an Academy Award.

Film Director

The movie Backstage (1988), starring Grammy winner Laura Branigan, was directed and written by Hardy.

Jonathan Hardy was also a voice actor, as he provided the voice of Dominar Rygel XVI in the science fiction television series “Farscape.”
