The novel narrates the investigation of Autumn Clarke, a car-crash survivor who now lives with PTSD, into the mysterious death of her pet dog Chrissy’s canine parent. She teams up with Chrissy, a Shih Tzu, to get to the root of the mystery while also recruiting help from an attractive detective along the way.

Attorney-at-Paw: A Chrissy the Shih Tzu Mystery falls in the popular genres of cozy mystery/ and into contemporary women’s fiction in general. The character of a modern day, independent woman with a pet dog as family and partner-in-adventure, the book creates an empowering and entertaining tale of human-pet friendship and collaboration.

“The character of Chrissy is inspired by my brother’s real-life Shih Tzu, Chrissy, who I adopted after he passed away. Other characters are inspired by Chrissy’s furry pals and our neighbors in Eastern Pennsylvania,” says Diane Wing.

The author tells that Attorney-at-Paw: A Chrissy the Shih Tzu Mystery is the first book with these characters in a planned series of six. In the stories ahead, Chrissy and Autumn will solve murder mysteries in the small Pennsylvania town of Knollwood with stories themed around Halloween and Christmas, Autumn’s family heritage, and others. Readers will watch Autumn and Chrissy grow and change as they overcome personal challenges and find love and friendship in the series.
