Verizon could have an iPhone as by early 2011
According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is producing an iPhone based on CDMA technology which would operate on Verizon’s wireless network and plans to have it ready by the end of the year.
Rumors have been going around for a few years now about when Verizon would carry the iPhone, but with this announcement, it seems that the iPhone is in Verizon’s near future.
AT&T has had an arrangement with Apple since 2007 to exclusively carry the iPhone, but that arrangement appears to be coming to an end with this announcement.
Also sources report that Apple is working on a 5th Generation iPhone that would be different design than its predecessors.
Apple and Verizon have declined to comment.
