SoftLayer Technologies, the internet provider for NewsBlaze has been quietly expanding network capacity.
Earlier this year, NewsBlaze started using the SoftLayer content delivery network, in addition to dedicated servers, slashing page load times in half. Now, latency has been further reduced.
Installing Juniper Networks MX 3D Universal Edge Routers throughout their facilities increased SoftLayer’s port capacity four times.
SoftLayer says the new system means faster performance, greater stability, increased reliability and better visibility into network traffic.
– Will Charnock, SoftLayer VP Network Engineering
SoftLayer VP of Network Engineering, Will Charnock, told NewsBlaze that as SoftLayer’s existing backbone routers approached capacity, they decided to upgrade to boost performance, decrease latency, and improve capacity to meet the demands of their growing customer base well into the future.
The addition of higher capacity Juniper networking gear means higher performance throughout their facilities for customers and end-users around the world, including NewsBlaze readers.
SoftLayer is planning for additional facilities in the coming months, built with the same Juniper Networks MX Series routers. SoftLayer provides cloud, dedicated, and integrated computing environments, at data centers in Dallas, Houston, San Jose, Seattle, and Washington D.C., and network Points of Presence nationwide.
Headquartered in Dallas, SoftLayer is the largest privately held hosting company in the world, and as a private company also, NewsBlaze is happy to host with Softlayer.
