A couple found deceased in Folsom Thursday night were identified by the Sacramento County Coroner after the next of kin had been notified.
Michael Christopher Rogers, 41, and Erin Scarlett, 39, were found deceased after reports of screams and gunfire at their residence in the 200 block of Wales Drive.
The Folsom Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau is still investigating the deaths.
Several citizens called to report multiple gun shots, and when the first officer arrived just before 9pm, less than two minutes after the first call, a witness told him they had seen a female being pulled into the residence from an upstairs patio as gun fire erupted.
Folsom Special Weapons and Tactics team responded with the assistance of the Hostage Negotiation Team. Officers found the man, with a gun shot wound to the head, in an upstairs bedroom. He was non-responsive.
The female was found on the patio, with multiple gun shot wounds. A handgun was located inside the bedroom. The Folsom Fire Department pronounced both people deceased at the scene.
Neighbors advised officers that the male and female residents were in a dating relationship.
