Noveda and ARAMARK to Increase Energy Awareness on Campuses

Noveda Technologies, a company that provides web-based, real-time energy and water management systems, and ARAMARK, a company that provides professional facilities management services, has entered into a strategic partnership to develop solutions for managing energy and water consumption in real-time.

“We are honored and very excited to partner with ARAMARK as they seek innovative solutions to drive energy and water conservation by utilizing real-time monitoring and community participation,” says Govi Rao, president and CEO of Noveda Technologies. “ARAMARK’s longstanding presence in facilities management provides them with a thorough understanding of energy and water consumption. We look forward to collaborating with them to help reach their customers’ conservation and sustainability goals.”

The partnership is designed to deliver programs that drive and sustain behavioral change to reduce waste and optimize consumption of electricity, natural gas and water in higher education facilities managed by ARAMARK across North America.

Noveda will provide ARAMARK’s clients with data acquisition hardware and software solutions. Together with that comes an operations portal that will allow facility managers to view and monitor energy and water usage at multiple campus buildings from one system.

In addition to enabling energy and water monitoring, Noveda Technologies will provide interactive and real-time educational dashboards and kiosk displays to track energy and water use; it will encourage energy saving competitions on the campuses ARAMARK serves.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, educational institutions in the US spend nearly $14 billion annually on energy. Colleges and universities can reduce energy bills by 30 percent or more and sustain savings by employing a variety of measures.

In a recent ARAMARK survey of higher education students, one way of reducing water bills and sustaining savings is through education and engagement programs that involve the campus community on how to reduce consumption and change behavior.

ARAMARK has successfully implemented several campus education and awareness programs that engaged students in reducing waste and consumption of resources.

ARAMARK is committed to bringing innovative solutions to our partner clients that help them conserve resources and meet their sustainability goals,” says Ron Mesaros, vice president of Facility Services for ARAMARK Higher Education. “This strategic alliance with Noveda will enable our facility managers to monitor and track energy consumption on our partner campuses in real-time, as well as engage and educate the entire campus community in environmental stewardship.”

Noveda’s hardware, software and consulting services help reduce energy and water usage, optimize performance of renewable energy systems. This reduces the carbon footprint for customers across commercial, retail, industrial, government, education, and utility sectors.
