Facebook Settles Privacy Violations and Deception of Users

Facebook settled with the Federal Trade Commission regarding a complaint that the social networking giant, illegally deceived its users.

Facebook violated users privacy rights, and although there were no monetary fines, audits will be conducted every two years, for the next 20 years.

There will be little to no change at all on Facebook; you still won’t read a privacy policy.

What you can expect is more regulatory enforcements with other businesses and corporations.

This is especially important as yottabytes are being harvested from GPS devices, on board car computers, EZ Pass transponders, and cell phones.

For now, expect limited privacy when online. Using a cell phone, navigating with a GPS and even your state run EZ pass can track your location if you pass by one of the thousands of transmitters on the highway.
