Two People Beheaded, Killers Surrender With Severed Heads

Guwahati, May 16: Two people beheaded in Assam’s Jorhat district on Wednesday. The killers surrendered to authorities while still in possession of the severed heads, police said.

“The murders took place at the Tocklai tea estate near the Rajabari area in the district on Wednesday morning due to a land dispute,” a police said.

According to the report, seven people attacked the two individuals with sharp weapons and beheaded them.

The victims were identified as Bolu Tanti and Ruhi Tanti.

Later, the killers surrendered to Cinnamara police station, with the severed heads.

Police arrested the seven killers, who were identified as Gobind Manjhi, Tinku Tanti, Madan Tanti, Aagun Tanti, Rajen Satnam and Bimal Tanti.

Police also arrested two others named Suresh Mirdha and Sankar Bauri, who were linked to the murder case.

Top officials of police and the district administration rushed to the area and as a result of the incident, security has been increased.
