Security Forces Apprehend Three Maoist Cadres in Arunachal

Security forces have arrested three maoist cadres in Arunachal Pradesh, police said on Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Assam Rifles and Special Investigation Team (SIT) launched a search operation at Kaupatani village under Mahadevpur police station in Lohit district, in the hill state, and apprehended the maoist cadres.

The arrested maoist cadres were identified as Totong Neog, Nipen Jyoti Chetia and Jintu Chetia.

Security forces also seized extortion notes, mobile phones and sim cards in their possession.

Meanwhile, security forces arrested a militant from the United Democratic Front of Bodoland (UDFB) in the Namsai area on Thursday.

The UDFB militant was identified as Bitu Chakma.

The Intelligence Bureau report said recently the maoists had set up a few base camps in Arunachal Pradesh.
