Road Accident Kills Five in Assam

At least five people were killed in a road accident in Assam’s Kamrup district on Friday, police said.

The incident took place at Azara Matia in the Kamrup district on Friday morning, killing five people.

“The driver of a Tata pickup van lost control and the speedy vehicle fell on the road where three people killed on the spot and six others were injured,” a police official said.

The injured persons were rushed to Guwahati medical college hospital.

Two among the injured persons had succumbed to their injuries in hospital.

The deceased persons were identified as Pankaj Maranta, Kiransen Gohain, Moniram Das, Gopal Kalita, and Ranjit Pathak.
