Famous Assamese singer-composer Charu Gohain died on Saturday at a hospital in Guwahati. He was 54.
Gohain was admitted at Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) on February 22 due to liver problem.
“Gohain’s condition was critical and refered to ICU on Thursday night, but has not improvedand. He died at 10:45 am on Saturday morning,” a doctor of GMCH said.
“He is a golden voice of Assamese music,” an Assamese singer JP Das said.
Meanwhile, various organisations and society of Assamese music mourned for the death of the singer-composer.
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi expressed his grief and condoled in Gohain’s dead.
