PM Inaugurates Platinum Jubilee of Assam Assemby

Prime Minister Manmohan singh inaugurated the platinum jubilee celebration of Assam Legislative Assembly in his day-long visit.

During a meeting held at Dispur parade ground, the PM officialy inaugurated the 75 years celebration of the glorius state assembly.

He also inaugurated a souvinor which was published for the celebrations.

Prominent officials particularly Assam Governor Janaki Ballav Patnaik, Bihar Governor Debananda Konwar, Meghalaya Governor Ranjit Sekhar Musahary, Assam Chief Minister arun Gogoi, Union state Minister Pawan Singh Gatowar, Assam Assembly Speaker Pranab Gogoi and other state government ministers, MLA’s and officials also attended the celebrations.

Before attending the platinum jubilee cebration of the state assembly, PM Singh was inaugurated two moden facilities for cancer patients at Dr B Barooah Cancer Institute.

He inaugurated the Physical facility of the Linear Accelerator with Intencity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided radiation Therapy (IGRT). He also discussed the upgradation of Revitalization Project Phase-IV at a cost of Rs 197.49 crores.

Earlier, PM arrived at LGBI airport. He was welcomed by the Assam Governor Janaki Ballav Patnaik and Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.

He will fly to New Delhi at 5:00 pm today.
