Pakistan Cricket Board Appoints New Chairman

LAHORE: President of Pakistan and Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Asif Ali Zardari has appointed Chaudhry Zaka Ashraf as new Chairman of the PCB.

Ashraf is a member of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party, the ruling party at national level.

Ashraf is also considered to be a close friend of President Zardari and they studied together at Cadet College, Petaro.

In 2008, when the PPP came into power, Ashraf was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Zarai Taraqiat Bank Limited (ZTBL), formerly known as Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan.

Ashraf has also been the Chairman of Pakistan Sugar Mills Association. He will be replacing Ijaz Butt who has completed his three-year tenure as Chairman. Ashraf will be the 27th Chairman of the PCB.
