Guwahati, June 26 : Security forces arrested a Manipuri militant at Guwahati railway station on Monday night, police said on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of police and CRPF had launched a search operation at the station and discovered a Kangleipak Yaok Kanna Lup (KYKL) militant.
The arrested man was identified as Sairem Audou, alias Sundar.
“The militant was on his way to Dimapur, from Nepal,” a police official said.
The Intelligence Bureau (IB) revealed that a number of North East India militant groups have set up bases in Nepal and are operating their organizational activities there.
In the past two months, at least seven NE India militants were apprehended by security forces in West Bengal and Bihar.
