Lashkar Module Busted in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 5: Police Thursday claimed to have busted a module of the Pakistan based militant group Lashkar-e-Toiba in Indian administered Kashmir.

“Police busted Lashkar module who were working on the behest of a LeT commander of Pulwama and Kulgam in South Kashmir and were instrumental in recruit new youth for militancy cadre and also used to arrange and transport weapons for militants,” a police spokesman said.

He said police arrested a youth Younis Ahmad Makroo and during his questioning, he revealed that he alongwith other members of the module had arranged weapons and delivered them to the militants operating in Tral.

“On his disclosure, all his associates Shakoor-ul-Mansoor Parray, Tawseef Hussain Bhat, Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Shafi Bhat and Mohammad Younis Bhat were arrested,” he said.

The spokesman said module was involved in arranging and transportation of weapons and were also facilitating the movement of militants by providing them information regarding the movements of security forces in the area. “The module had also succeeded in recruiting some youths into the militancy,” he said.

He said further investigations are going on.
