Srinagar, July 5: The autobiography of senior separatist leader in Kashmir, Syed Ali Geelani will be released on July 7.
Geelani’s aide said the 571-page book titled ‘Wular ke Kinarey’ (On the banks of Wular), will reveal several “unknown facts” about his life. “It will also reveal important political events such as the partition of sub-continent, the 1965 Indo-Pak war and Tashkent agreement between the two countries,” he said.
He also said intellectuals, journalists and lawyers are expected to attend the book release function at a local hotel in Srinagar on July 7.
“The ailing separatist leader has been working on the book for the last one and a half year and has also tried to throw light on the personality of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah (former Chief minister of the region) and other political figures, the political and religious activities of Jamat-e-Islami, and the reasons behind the political uncertainty in Kashmir,” Geelani’s aide said.
