Four Notorious Militants Arrested in Assam

Four hardcore cadres of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Sangbijit faction) including an “Area Commander” were arrested by the army in Assam’s Baska district on Monday, officials said.

Acting on a tip-off, the army launched an operation in the Balabari area near Goreswar in the lower Assam district and apprehended the militants.

The militants were identified as self styled Area Commander of NDFB(S) Ratan Boro, Sanjib Boro, Chiran Boro and Namalu Boro.

Soldiers recovered two 7.65mm pistols, one point 22 pistol, 11 hand grenades, three magazines, 43 rounds of live ammunition, two mobile handsets, 13 SIM cards from them.
