Diphu: Dummy TET(teachers eligibility test) teachers are on the mission to enhance the quality education in the rural areas of Karbi Anglong instead of actually appointed teachers.

According to information, intelligent students who join this contractual service clearing TET hardly teaches in rural schools.

As alleged School management committee including the headmaster and block mission coordinator who oversees the salary procedure of these highly paid teachers also receives certain percentage of the salary and by 26th day of every month the appropriate attendance sheet of the actual TET qualified teacher gets ready for generating salary for full month.

Recently a Diphu based newspaper has reported that Nayanmoni Saikia a TET qualified teacher was appointed in Torte Apam L P. School under Rongkhang educational block on 4th April 2013. Saikia is one among hundreds of such TET teachers who never bothers to stay in rural areas for teaching as most of them either chase better career for higher education in urban areas and manages the expenditure of city life from the government salary which he earns in most immoral way.

“The poor and helpless students of rural places of our district are the receiving end of this dissolute practice of the so called efficient and morally sound teachers whom government has appointed against bulky salary to change the fate of our children and in practice they have pushed back our children to square one,” Robindra Rongpi social worker and political activist of Diphu alleged.
