Assam Ministry Likely to Be Reshuffled

Guwahati: Assam state government ministry would likely to be reshuffled between August 20-25, a high official source of All India Congress Committee said.

Over the issue of rift between Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and a Cabinet minister of the state government, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarmah, the congress high command had already ordered to the state government for ministry to be reshuffled.

“Congress high command issued a letter to the Assam CM and ordered to ministry reshuffled,” a high official source of AICC said.

“At least two ministers are likely to be dropped from the present ministry,” sources said.

Meanwhile, a congress MLA of Assam, Anjan Dutta had met with AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi on August 8.

Assam power minister Pradyut Bordoloi also met UPA chairman Sonia Gandhi and discussed the present situation of the state.

AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh on Friday denied the issue of rift between the Assam CM and a cabinet minister of the state.

Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, Singh said that there was no difference between CM and any other state government minister.

“Media presented the issue,” Digvijay Singh said.

The AICC general secretary visited the vulnerable areas of BTAD on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a meeting of congress coordination committee was held at the Assam CM’s official residence on Friday.
