Assam Chief Minister to Reshuffle Cabinet

Assam Cabinet To Be Reshuffled Before Jan 21

AICC has given green signal to Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to reshuffle his cabinet before January 21, a top official of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee said.

The Assam Chief Minister instructed his cabinet ministers to attend a crucial meeting on January 19 at his government residence in Koinadhara, on the outskirts of Guwahati.

A top source for the Assam Congress said the Chief Minister asked for the cabinet meeting before the reshuffle and instructed all ministers to give their resignation in the meeting.

Newly appointed APCC president Anjan Dutta said several cabinet ministers will be dropped in the reshuffle and at least 12 new ministers will be introduced.

“The reshuffle list was finalized by Congress high command and top Congress leader Dr CP Joshi. At least six ministers of the present cabinet and close to the CM will be dropped,” the source said.
