Is United States Taking Any Punitive Measures Against Iran?

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton today said the United States and EU have announced additional sanctions against Iran during an interview with Kristen Welker of NBC.

“We’re going to continue to keep as much of an international coalition to condemn Iran and sanction Iran as we can. Because remember, if it’s just the United States and Europe, that is not sufficient.” – Ms. Clinton

She said what was very significant about what they achieved early in the Administration was to get China and Russia to sign on to sanctions.

She stated that China is very reliant on Iranian gas and oil. She added they are going to do everything possible to tighten the screws on the Iranian regime.

She stressed Iran’s provocative actions whether it’s attacking the Embassy of the United Kingdom or trying to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador are deeply troubling to the United States and the world.
