Go Now: Golden Globes Sunday Night, Kate Winslet Was Indeed a Big Winner

Hello, there!

This is Garrett Godwin, and it is time to Go Now. It is where you get the latest on the world that we all know and love so much as the world of entertainment:

At the Golden Globes Sunday night, Kate Winslet was indeed a big winner. The actress won both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress in Reservation Road and The Reader. The NBC sitcom 30 Rock won four: including Best Comedy, Actress (Tina Fey) and Actor (Alec Baldwin). The acclaimed, chic 60s AMC series Mad Men was named Best Drama, while there was a post-humorous win in the Best Supporting Actor for the late Heath Ledger as the maniacal Joker in The Dark Knight. For more coverage on The Golden Globes, go online to TV Guide.

Before seeing them as Fugitives relive or watch Heroes: Villains, the third volume of Tim Kring’s extraordinary saga of ordinary people having extraordinary abilities. The cable network G4 is broadcasting all episodes of this recent, thrilling book as sides are being chosen, alliances formed, lines are being crossed, as the battle between good and evil comes ahead. The entire volume of Villains will air on January 31st on G4, so check your local listings.

And now, it is time for The Best of AMERICAN …

BANDSTAND!

On January 14, 1984, the group Quaterflash performed their Top 40 hit “Take Me To Heart” and their next song “Take Another Picture.” But the biggest act of Bandstand on this day was the future Material Girl herself: Madonna, performing her smash hit “Holiday.”

When asked by Dick Clark what to expect in 1984 and beyond as well as her dreams, she only had one thing to say: “To rule the world.”

You can find clips of American Bandstand online at YouTube.

Nightly TV Listings:

On CBS tonight at 8pm is an all-new NCIS, where Ducky’s past comes to light when he’s accused of being a war criminal.

Also at 8pm on FOX is the two-hour season premiere of American Idol.

And that is all the time we have here today, so thanks for joining me. But don’t forget to stay connected on what’s recent right here on Newsblaze (NB).

I gotta Go Now once again, so stay warm.
