Mrs. Shahla Zargarian Javdan a Woman of Spirit

Mrs. Shahla Zargarian Javdan served as the first women President of the Iranian American Jewish Federation (IAJF). On December 7th, 2014, at Temple BetEL, West Hollywood, the Federation held a gala, with Mr. Mike Nazarian, who served as the Gala Honorary Chairman, in which they honored Mrs. Zargarian Javdan for her exemplary service and her distinguished success in creating a stronger community bond during her two term tenure.

Among the many dignitaries, politicians, and known personalities, entertained by famous Israel Iranian born singer Rita Jahanforouz, also called the Ambassador of Peace, were Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Consul General of Israel Mr. David Seigel, Mr. David Javdan, Managing Partner at Alvarez & Marsall and formerly the Consul General of United State Small Business Administration (SBA) and Dr. Ruben Melamed, a Charter Founder of IAJF, all spoke and commended Mrs. Javdan’s life time dedication to serving the community at various local and national organizations.

Mrs. Javdan’s impressive professional resume includes an appointment by the New York Governor, George Pataki, to the New York State Board of Professional Medical Conduct, where she served for ten years as a board member and a judge until moving to Los Angeles.

Mrs. Javdan’s impressive philanthropy in her long resume includes the Red Cross and the Eleanor Roosevelt Humanitarian Awards and the State of Israel Bonds Prime Minister’s Club Award.

In her moving ward acceptance speech, Mrs. Javdan, married to Dr. Parviz Javdan and a mother to three, invited the community at large to become aware of the many injustices and inhumane acts we see in the world today and to unite and stand to end them.

“I am thrilled to see that every member of my family, including myself, has followed in my parents’ footsteps cherished tradition of Tikkun Olam – rectification and healing of the world.”
